We were asked to assist in creation of Inventory of the Land of the Southern Sea Shore of Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukraine, by Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, in 2005.
We have drived my car from Warsaw, Poland to Crimea, (2000 km) for two days, through Moldova and Odessa, to finally reach Simferopol and Jalta. It all started from ESRI Confernece of Ukrainian e-COMM.
Then I have cooperated with Ukrainian Centre for Land and Resource Management on a number of projects, but the first use of Very Hihg Satellite photos in Ukraine, with its applications to Land and Cadastral area had a place in 2005. We have made orthophoto from IKONOS for very difficult area (from topographic point of view, ranging on height from o to 1500 meteres above the sea level) fro 4 rayons of Crimea, within one week, after receiving GPS - in-field measurements.
ULRMC have mede terrific work with conversion of cadastral data from 12 local projections systems into one coordinate systems, which in legal and technical base of Ukraine seem to be a miracle at the time of this work.
